Jan G. Opperman

Jan Opperman, age 88, the patron saint of James Street, passed peacefully in her home on August 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her son Eric Opperman. Jan is survived by her daughters Linda Coulthurst, Debbie Knepper and husband Jim Knepper, Mary Reed; grandchildren Tiffany Coulthurst, Ashley Coulthurst, Hayley Reed, Robin Reed; great-grandchildren Alexandria Hunter, Elizabeth Hunter, Zoey Clark; brother Buck Beatty; and cat Pablo. Jan was a loving mother, devoted grandmother, generous friend, and faithful Christian. Her interests were many and varied; scripture study, home remodeling, and crossword puzzles among them. Caring for her family and dear friends was her highest purpose. To know her was to love her, and she will be greatly missed. Heaven is celebrating her return home.
