Adele M. Toennessen, age 90 of Bellingham, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 7, 2013. She was born June 4, 1923 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Peter and Ada Trierweiler. Adele enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading and traveling. She loved to laugh and spend time with family and friends. Adele was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Toennessen and her brother Richard Trierweiler. She is survived by daughters Aileen (Gary) LaBret of Plymouth, MI, Nancy (Bob) Cochran of University Place, WA, and Lynn Toennessen of Bellingham; sons Michael (Kate) Toennessen of Seattle, WA, and Thomas (Denise) Drake of Springfield, Virginia; grandchildren Andrea (Dan) Houdek, Michelle (Wade) Miley, Ethan Cochran, Jeremy (Amy) Cochran, Brenly Drake and Esther Drake; great-grandchildren Chance, Zachary, Joshua, Drew, Isabelle, Molly, Jacob, Brenden and Jeremiah. Memorials may be made to Fred Hutchison Cancer Research Center at fhcrc.org. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 12 Noon on Monday, June 10th. A reception will follow at the Church.
