Alberta Viola Zurilgen, age 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home in Bellingham,WA. She was born in Chowchilla, CA on February 22, 1933 to Albert and Marie Zurilgen. Alberta had a spitfire personality, a youthful spirit, a zest for life and a deep abiding love for her children and grandchildren! Her children were the loves of her life. Her devotion to their joy and well being was endless. Throughout her illnesses she showed tremendous strength and resilience. She was a true survivor with a spirit for life. Mom, we all love you and miss you so much, but we know that you are now at peace and healed in the arms of Jesus. Alberta was predeceased by nine brothers and her former husband Eugene Leroy Loop. She is survived by her daughters Barbara Williams, Gwen Smits and Deborah Welch, son Rodney Loop, grandchildren Rachael Williams, Adam Smits, Jake Welch and wife Alexis Lowney, seven great-grandchildren; Madison, Xavier, Rosie, Josie, Nathan and Lincoln Ray, (born into this world on the day she left it), and many loving relatives and friends including her lifelong great love Greg “The Mountain Man” Newton.
