Aleta Bringhurst, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2012 in Bellingham. She was born February 24, 1915 in Easton, IL to Earl and Ethel Schrump. Aleta graduated high school in 1933. She was married to Bruce McCall from 1937 until his death in 1982. She was married to Bill Bringhurst from 1985 until his death in 1995. She had a very close relationship to her brother Clarence. When Clarence died as a young adult, Aleta grieved his loss for her entire life. Aleta’s strength and determination helped her to survive cancer in the late 1980’s and a traumatic head injury in 2003. She was passionate about gardening and enjoyed monthly lunches with friends at the Olive Garden. Aleta always had a positive attitude, a big smile, and a concern for others rather than herself. She dearly loved her family. Aleta is survived by her daughters Janice Lamoreaux and Barbara (husband Bill) Forbes, grandchildren Lori Forbes, Linnea (husband Kevin) Butler, Lisa Lamoreaux (husband John Uhrich) and Dean Forbes (Kelsie Arvidson), and great-grandchildren Alex, Adam and Kasen. She is also survived by sisters-in law Betty Johnston and Jean McCall, with whom she was especially close. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Francis of Bellingham for their loving care of Aleta. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice or the Whatcom Humane Society. A Celebration of Aleta’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Friday, October 26th at 11 AM followed by a reception.
