Alex passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. Raised on Mercer Island, he excelled academically while participating in youth theatre, math club, music, HTLC, and many sports, including MIHS and later Middlebury College varsity football and track (discus and shot put) teams, and two years as a valued rower for Mt. Baker Crew. He also enjoyed golf, snowboarding, and SUP. After majoring in Economics and Mathematics with minor in Film at Middlebury, he spent two additional years there studying musical theory and composition, postponing graduate school but enjoying Vermont from 2008-2023 between visits to Mercer Island, Maui and multiple continents. He and his wife, Coumba, launched several apps prior to their website development, marketing and UX business, with Alex also devoted to higher mathematics and composing music, publishing his first album, “Back to the Temple” on line this summer.
Alex’s loving, empathic and polite presence and keen intellect will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. He is survived by his parents, Drs David H. Myerson and M. Michele Myerson, and his sister Dr. Katherine Myerson, all of Mercer Island, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
He will be laid to rest at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham, WA.
