Al Dearborn passed away peacefully, January 23, 2014 in Bellingham, WA. He was born in Hallstead, PA on November 10, 1922 to Robert and Freda Dearborn. Al was employed by Puget Power as an Administrator for over 39 years. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. He married Bernita “Bea” (Nelson) Leamer on April 12, 1980. They resided at Cordata Village for over 20 years, creating many long lasting friendships. Al and Bea traveled far and wide in their RV going from one Jazz festival to another. How they loved to dance! Bea’s children, Laurie, Rick and Dawn, are so thankful to have had Al in their lives and appreciate how much he cared for their mother. Al was preceded in death by his parents and other family members including his son-in-law Bo Sands. He is survived by his wife Bernita “Bea” Dearborn, children Laurie (Mike) Harris, Rick (Kathy) Leamer and Dawn (Bob) Brown, grandchildren Jason, Bret, Kristen, April, Carly and Tom, four great-grandchildren, brother Jack (Ellen) Dearborn, sister Jean Dearborn, and many loving relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 2901 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA 98225. A Celebration of Al’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:30am with a reception following.
