Allen Franklin Hankins Jr. was born on April 21, 1950 in Bellingham, WA to Allen and Regatha (Crout) Hankins. Allen passed away on July 21, 2023 with his beloved partner, Paula, by his side.
Allen grew up in Alger and Bellingham. He was the youngest of seven children. He graduated from Bellingham High School and moved to Georgia where, through hard work and determination, Allen rose through the ranks of BellSouth from a field technician to upper management.
Allen’s passion was coaching his son in various sports, including baseball and football. This is where he found a calling for helping young people and impacting their lives. Through his dedication to coaching, he was a father figure to many, some of which did not have a father in their lives. Later in life, Allen enjoyed panning for gold and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his son, Kade Hankins (wife Carly), and Allen’s beloved partner, Paula Schuman. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 28th at 11:00am at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham.
