Alma Gainer White, age 92 passed away September 24, 2013. She was born October 27, 1920 in Mount Vernon, WA to Jonathan and Nellie Snowden. She grew up in the Ten Mile neighborhood and was a lifetime resident of Whatcom County. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1939 as Salutatorian of her class. She worked for the Whatcom County Courthouse, Pacific Northwest Bell and Pacific Pearl Seafoods. She was a member of Friends of the Library and the Bellingham Senior Center. Alma was preceded in death by husbands William Gainer and William White. She is survived by children Bonnie McDonald, Linda Gainer, Dean Gainer and Coral Gainer, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, sister Mabel Pace Benedict of Bellingham and many loving relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Drive, Ferndale, WA on Saturday, September 28 at 11:00 a.m.
