Angela R. Jones

Angela R. Jones, 98, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on May 19, 2023. As was Angie’s favorite saying, she “let go and let God.”
Angela Russo was born March 15, 1925 on the island of Panarea, Italy, to Angelo and Josephine (Tesoriero) Russo. Angie’s family emigrated to New York in 1928 and then Los Angeles during her youth.
She married Joseph Kordal on September 22, 1946, and has resided in Bellingham since then. Joseph died on April 25, 1959, and Angie later married Harold “Bud” Jones on December 11, 1965. Bud passed on April 25, 1979. She was also preceded in death in March 2021 by Bill Hogan, her partner of over 30 years.
Angie is survived by her 3 children, Cheryl Bode, Karen Wilson, and Janis (Rick) Tremaine, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters in California.
Angie held several jobs over the years, including a long career as a salesclerk at JC Penney in downtown Bellingham. She was a devout Catholic and loved attending Church of the Assumption.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 10:30am at Church of the Assumption, 2116 Cornwall Ave. Bellingham, WA. A graveside committal will follow at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Dr. Ferndale, WA.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Dementia Support Northwest, 2950 New Market St. #210, Bellingham, WA 98226
