Ann Halverson passed away on March 21st, 2011 at the age of 96. Although she made her home in Bellingham for 51 years she was a native of New York. Ann worked as an administrative assistant for the political science department of Western Washington University for 21 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Gil Halverson and son Jim Halverson. Ann was best known for her New York accent, her love of feeding people and cooking, and most notably her unique sense of humor. Ann was always young at heart and had a passion for traveling the world. She is survived by her son James Boylan and daughter in law April Joy of Chandler, Arizona, as well as her daughters Janet Starkenburg and Rhoda Fickel. She had 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Dorothy Heller, Jeanne Valenti, and Michael Holcek. A celebration of Ann’s life will be held at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway in Bellingham on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 pm.
