A very special angel was welcomed into heaven on the 24th of January, 2017. Anna May Christensen passed away peacefully at home in Ellensburg, Washington after a brief struggle with health complications. She left us with her enduring spirit, her gracious smile, and a lifetime of wonderful memories.
Anna was born in Everett, Washington on March 26, 1929. She was one of 15 children born to her parents, Walter and Hazel Stover. Anna worked for years as a nurse and caregiver, as well as spending many years utilizing her artistic talents as a cake decorator. After retiring she lived for several years in Acme, Washington before moving to Ellensburg to live with her daughter, Leanne Colleen. Over the 87 years of her life she shared her love, her friendship, and her gentle outlook on life with all who knew her.
Anna is survived by her five children; Eric Christensen (Eileen), Lloyd Christensen Jr., Todd Christensen (Diane), Debra Featherton (Carey), and Leanne Colleen Satre (Kenneth), plus 18 grandchildren and 24 great granchildren. She also is survived by her brother, Harold Stover, and sister, Barbara Fladland.
A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, March 27th at the Kirkland Cemetery, 123 5th Ave., Kirkland, WA. A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on a later date. Additional information will be shared with friends and family members once final plans are determined.
One of Anna’s favorite hobbies was gardening. She loved to raise flowers, nurturing and caring for them in much the same way that she cared for people. She was certainly one of the most glorious flowers to have in our family garden. She will be missed greatly, but every time we see a beautiful flower in bloom we know that Anna’s spirit is still with us.
