Ardis E. Roque passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2017, surrounded by her family, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on September 12, 1928 to Martin and Lola Christensen in Wisner, Nebraska. She became a big sister 15 months later when her sister Ruth was born. Ardis grew up in Nebraska for the first 13 years of her life until her family moved to Burlington, WA when she was in the eighth grade. She graduated from Burlington Edison High School in 1946. Ardis was a woman of unshakable faith. She was passionate about life, writing and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter, parents, sister Ruth, and infant daughter Robin. Ardis is survived by her children Marty (Mary) McCune of Seattle, Bruce (Karen) Munro of Snohomish, Susie (Wayne) Sewell of Mt. Vernon, Marla (Bill) Heath of Bellingham, Deanna Rabieh of W. Columbia, SC, Janet (Layne) Anderson of Everson, and Walt Roque of Bellingham, grandchildren Alek McCune, Gillian Castle, Tooie Munro, Megin Robertson, Marci Robertson, Bennie Sewell, Charlie Sewell, David Heath, Garrett Heath, Layth Rabieh, Will Rabieh, Jamal Rabieh, Leila Rabieh, Amanda (Charley) Cramer, Abby (Erik) Bjordahl, Connor Anderson, Dillen (Emmy) Roque, McKenzie Roque, and Landon Roque, 13 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and many loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Service for Ardis will be held at 11 am on Friday, May 26, at Birchwood Presbyterian Church, 400 Meadowbrook Ct. in Bellingham.
