Arline Meyer

Arline Mae (Murk) Meyer, 90, of Bellingham, died surrounded by family on Oct. 31, 2011 at Whatcom Hospice House, having lived many years in the Fairhaven district of Bellingham, WA. She was born on 7/1/1921 in Amor, MN, arrived in Bellingham in 1937, a member of the 1st graduating class from Bellingham High School. Arline married Stanley Meyer in 1940, who preceded her in death, as did her parents Gilbert & Mable (Lien) Murk, daughter Shelley Gabrielson, brothers Merton and Lyndon Murk, and sister Mavis Bjorkland. She is survived by a loving family: sons and spouses Doug & Lorraine Meyer, Sumas; Jason & Ellen Meyer, Oak Harbor; grandchildren and spouses: Rob & Judy Meyer, Sumas; Vince Meyer, Sumas; Jere’ Jaline, Little Rock, AR, Jay & Cricket Meyer, Midland, TX; and Mary Meyer & Rob Sexton, Sedro Woolley. Four great-grandchildren: Tyson & Taylor Meyer, Sumas; Ely Meyer, Portland, OR; Cassie Sexton, Sedro Woolley and great-grandson, Saith; sister-in-law Ivaloe Meyer, Seattle, and numerous nieces and nephews. Arline spent most of her life as a wife, mother and homemaker, but found time for other passions and artistic flair; architectural design, writing, painting, quilt making, and turning her yard into a beautiful array of gardens. Her favorite pastime was planning family gatherings and parties. She was able to enjoy extensive travel during her lifetime. A family gathering will be held.
