Arloine Agnes (Waylett) Pendleton, died December 13, 2010 in Oak Harbor after a valiant fight against lung cancer. She was born April 17, 1937 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham to Jessie R. and Agnes Anna (Kuehnel) Waylett.  Arlo grew up in the Mountain View area west of Ferndale. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1954 and after completing business school, worked at Jeffcott Motors in Ferndale, then Boeing in Seattle. She worked at Brooks Lumber Company in Bellingham for 25 years.  Arlo married Dennis K. Pendleton on April 27, 1973. They loved to travel and made many trips by cruise ship and motor coach. Arlo raised her great-grandson Cody J. Shell from 8 months to the age of 16. When Dennis retired from Intalco in 2005 they moved to Tonto Basin, AZ where they soaked up the sun they both loved. Dennis died of a massive heart attack on October 14, 2008.
Arloine is survived by her daughter Jacqueline (husband Ian) Smith, sisters Bernadeen (husband Jim) Bowers and Evilo (husband Dan) Adkinson and sister-in-law Pat Pendleton. She is also survived by 2 granddaughters Amanda Haley and Cindy Ann (husband Dennis) Anderson, 4 great-grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter, 2 nephews, 3 grandnieces and 1 grandnephew.  Those who survive and loved Arloine will miss her. She was a very special lady.
A graveside service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, December 22nd at 1 PM.
