Arthur J. Goodwin, age 82 passed away September 5, 2013. He was born October 11, 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to John and Hattie Goodwin. He married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Pancheri, also of Milwaukee, WI on December 29, 1951. Art served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Art was detail-oriented, an asset for his work as a Scientist, Owner of Research Magnetic Systems, and as an Administrator for Crocker Bank in San Francisco, two School Districts, Kaiser Hospital, and lastly for the County of San Mateo, California. He enjoyed fishing and boating in the lakes of Wisconsin and northern California, reading, listening to music, investing, and all things mechanical. Art was a lifetime member of the Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother Harold. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, five children Patricia (Mel) Stratton, Dr. Kathleen (Dr. Roger) Stambaugh, Michael Goodwin, Roger Goodwin, and Karen Goodwin, grandchildren Christopher (Rachel) Stratton, Nathan Stratton, Taylor Kammeier, James McMullin, Jacqueline and Jordan Stambaugh, Great grandchildren Shelby and Melanie Stratton, sister Margaret Minerick, and many loving relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass is to be held at Our Lady of the Sierra Catholic Church in Arnold, California at 11 AM on September 21. The family wishes to thank Silverado Senior Living and Whatcom Hospice for the loving care they provided to Art. Art is loved and will be missed by all.
