Barbara Gillespie

Longtime resident, Barbara Gillespie, age 95, passed away, Friday, December 21, in Bellingham, WA. Barbara was born on February 17, 1923 in Sacramento, CA to parents Ruby and Alfred McFall. She graduated from San Francisco College for Women in 1946 and was employed by United Air Lines. She married Roy Gillespie in 1948 and relocated to Eugene, OR. While in Eugene, in addition to being a young mother, she was involved in the development of the Eugene Junior League. The young family was very involved in sports…skiing and golf were always important. She has been a Member of the Bellingham Golf and Country Club since the early sixties. In addition to her sports interests, she was an avid bridge player. Barbara is survived by her children; Kathy Jackson of Atlanta, GA; Patty Brewster of Atlanta, GA; Terry Gillespie and her spouse John Stanton of Bellevue, WA; Steve Gillespie and his spouse Kathy Gillespie of Bend, OR; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Gillespie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Church of the Assumption.
