Bernita "Bea" Dearborn

December 11, 1931 — March 14, 2017

Bea Dearborn, age 85, passed away peacefully, March 14, 2017 in Bellingham, WA. She was born in Bellingham on December 11, 1931 to Christian and Hjardis Nelson. Bea worked as an Administrative Assistant for St. Luke’s Hospital, Whatcom County Health Department and Puget Power. She was married to Fred Leamer for 25 years and together they raised their children, Laurie, Rick and Dawn. She married Al Dearborn on April 12, 1980. They resided at Cordata Village for over 20 years, creating many long lasting friendships. Al and Bea traveled far and wide in their RV going from one Jazz festival to another. How they loved to dance! She was a longtime member of the Bellingham Golf & Country Club and was an avid reader and card player. Bea was preceded in death by her husband Al Dearborn, her son-in-law Bo Sands and sister Louise Flinn. She is survived by her children Laurie (Mike) Harris, Rick (Kathy) Leamer and Dawn (Bob) Brown, grandchildren Jason, Bret, Kristen, April, Carly and Tom, five great-grandchildren, sister Elaine Emmons, former husband Fred Leamer, and many loving relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 2901 Squalicum Pkwy, Bellingham, WA 98225. A Celebration of Bea’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Friday, March 24th at 11:00 am with a reception following. You may share memories with the family at www.westfordfuneralhome.com .
