Betty Joyce Cates, of Bellingham, WA, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014. She was 82, born on September 3, 1931 in Burlington, NC to Rueben and Mary Belle (Dodson) Joyce. Betty is survived by her husband James Cates; son Jay and his wife Sandy Cates; grandson Michael Cates; sister Polly Mills; 3 brothers, J.B., Tom, and Wayne Joyce; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services and burial will be held in Burlington, NC.
