Betty Parker, age 85, passed away peacefully in Bellingham on October 23, 2018. She was born July 13, 1933 in Spruce Lake, Sasketchewan, to Valdimar and Hrodney Horgdal. Betty graduated from Blaine High School in 1951 and went on to study nursing at Everett General Hospital School of Nursing. She married Bob Parker on June 30, 1956 in Blaine, WA. Betty enjoyed working as an RN at St. Luke’s Hospital for over 30 years. She was passionate about nursing and she cherished her many friends that she made during her career as a Nursing Supervisor. Betty and Bob have been members of Faith Lutheran Church and the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. Together they enjoyed travel and their winters spent in Palm Desert. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bob, daughters Lori (husband Tom) Stieve of Bellingham and Lynn (husband Steve) Rau of Mill Creek, 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Tim Parker, grandson Evan Thomas Stieve, brother Harald Horgdal and sister Verna McClimans. The family would like to thank Silverado for their loving care of Betty. A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellingham on Monday, October 29th at 1 PM.
