Beverly Jean Gallaher (Cramer) passed away on February 25, 2021 at the age of 84. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and homemaker who cared deeply for her family. Bev was born in Bellingham on January 28, 1937 to Ted and Lois Cramer. Not wanting to miss her birth, her father finished his bread deliveries in the San Juan Islands just in time to catch the last operating evening ferry back to Bellingham during a stormy crossing. Beverly attended Assumption School and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1955. It was while attending Western Washington University that she met her husband Larry. They were true partners until his death in 1992. Bev had considerable talent in making things beautiful, through her creative flower arrangements, with special meals and celebrations, her home decorating, on many camping trips with her family, and most of all in her relationships and friendships. She was a lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Assumption with an unwavering devotion to her faith and spiritual community.
In addition to being a caring and supportive wife and mother, Bev also worked in the Bellingham School District as a substitute secretary, as a florist in Ferndale, and as a local office manager. Upon retirement she traveled through Europe, attending mass in Rome and visiting many holy sites.
Beverly was especially proud of her children, grandchildren, and most recently her great-grandchildren. She supported their education, music education, clubs and activities, and sports events. Bev will be fondly remembered for many things but most of all her wit, her incredibly good humor and her deep relationship with Christ. Whenever her children travelled, she always sent them off with this message, “May there be many angels around you.” Her family and friends can be certain that there are indeed many angels around her now.
Survivors include brother Bill Cramer (Brenda), children Deborah, Tom (Carol), Stephen (Heather) and Patrick (Shelly), six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Assumption on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
