Billee Jean (Garling) Ershig passed away in her home on November 10, 2018 with her husband and children at her side. Billee was born in Sedro Woolley, WA on February 27, 1940 to Bill and Betty Garling. She graduated from Mt. Baker High School and attended the University of Washington where she met her husband Herb. They were married on March 25, 1961 and enjoyed a long and loving marriage. They settled in Bellingham where they raised their three children. Billee loved people and enjoyed celebrating their lives and accomplishments. Traveling with Herb was one of her favorite pastimes, as well as spending time on San Juan Island with her family. She was passionate about her family, loving to share in their lives. Billee leaves behind her best friend and loving companion, Herb, her three children and their spouses: Allan (Camilla) Ershig, Steve (Cara) Ershig and Wendy (Dan) Guy, as well as her loving grandchildren Emily, Timothy, Mackenzie and Preston. Billee was an amazing lady who will be missed by many. Her parents and her brother Terry predeceased her. Memorials may be made to Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood, Whatcom Hospice Foundation, or the Ershig Assistive Technology Resource Center, ATRC at WWU Foundation. Her family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to her wonderful caregivers, Paula and Michele, and the Hospice nurses and staff that ensured her care and comfort. A celebration of life reception will be held at the First Congregational Church, 2401 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham on Sunday, December 9th at 3 PM.
