Billie Schlarb, age 87, left us suddenly on Sunday, March 2, 2014 with her loved ones by her side. Our hearts are grieving for this wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend who so loved life. She was born in Pampa, Texas to Charley and Letha Schlarb. She was one of eight children. Billie is survived by her son Larry Baker and his wife Lois, her daughter Rhonda Morse-Austin and her husband Marty, her grandchildren Renia, Bobbie & Lee, Billie & Dave, Larry II, Suzy, and Tyler. She has numerous great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters (Addie & Daisy). She is also survived by her brothers Glen Schlarb and Jimmy Schlarb, and her sisters Lorene Hand and Mary Lou Wheatly. Billie has had a very active life. She loved sewing her own clothes. She used to be a seamstress in Hollywood for actors such as Janet Leigh, Betty Davis and Clark Gable, making their costumes for movies, as well as personal items. She loved making her dresses for square dancing, loved gardening, and always had a ready smile for everyone she met! We would like to say a special “thank you” to Michelle Turek and all of the staff at Sweet Golden Years Adult Family Home. You all have always made our grandma feel your home was her home, and have made us all feel a part of your family. Thank you for your care and love throughout the years. For that, we will forever be grateful! A funeral service will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday March 6, 2014 at 11am with a reception following.
