Bonnie (Nieshe) Richardson, 91, was born in Anacortes on Feb 21, 1921, to George and Ada Nieshe. She grew up in Concrete, WA. Bonnie passed away peacefully on Dec. 4, 2012 at St. Francis of Bellingham. In 1946 Bonnie married Donald Lee Richardson, of Acme. Donald passed away in 1984. Bonnie eventually met and married Matthew Franzen, of Bellingham. Matthew passed away in 2010. Bonnie was also preceded in death by her sister Helen Bates. Bonnie worked in the Mt. Baker High School library before retiring in 1984. She was a member of many organizations throughout her life including the Hopewell Grange #518, the American Legion Auxiliary #43 in Sedro-Woolley, the Peace Arch Salon #209 of the Forty and Eight, Fraternal Order of Eagles #1444 in Concrete, Women of the Moose #277, of Bellingham and the Welcome Senior Center. Bonnie is survived by three daughters, LaDonna (Lowell) Knutson of Sedro-Woolley, Vicki (Gary) George of Bellingham, and Debbie (Richard) Cassel of Marblemount. Three grandsons, Jim Knutson; Mike (Jenny) Knutson; Donnie (Lexi) Knutson and seven great-grandchildren, Courtney, Jessica, Amber, Layne, Shay, Colton, and Kenzie. Extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins including Dixie Ryan, Gary (Colleen) Weatherby, Jean (Ed) Brunz and Gordon (Denise) Bates. Bonnie always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She loved to spend her days with family and friends. The family would like to extend a very grateful thank you to all the dedicated nurses and caretakers of St. Francis of Bellingham and Whatcom Hospice. Mom thought of you as family. You cared so very much….Thank You! A graveside service will be held at Saxon Cemetery on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11am. A memorial gathering will follow at 1pm at LaDonna’s residence.
