Camille R. Skaggs

Camille R. Skaggs, age 80, of Bellingham, WA, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023.

Camille was born March 31, 1943 in Milwaukee, WI to Henry and Raynelle (Nelles) Schwabe. She met Paul Skaggs on a blind date and they married on June 3, 1967 in Scobey, MT. In 1969, Paul and Camille moved to Whatcom County where they raised their children and were longtime parishioners of the Church of the Assumption. Camille worked as a Registered Nurse, then went on to teach nursing at Bellingham Technical College until her retirement. She was a passionate gardener, quilter, RV camper, and greeter at Assumption. She very much enjoyed being a mother and taking care of her family.

For the past six years Camille resided at Summit Place Assisted Living. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Summit Place staff, and to Camille’s friends for their love, phone calls, letters, and visits.

Camille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul (2006) and infant son Mark. She is survived by son Patrick Skaggs (Becky) and their children Henry and Claire, daughter Shannon Wanlin (Jeff) and their children Jensen (fiancé Derek) and Tyler, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorials may be made to Church of the Assumption or the ALS Association.

A Vigil Service will be held at 5:00pm on Monday, September 25th at Westford Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, September 26th at 10:30am at Church of the Assumption.
