Carlton Charbonneau

September 3, 1951 — June 10, 2015

Carlton Charbonneau, 63, passed away on June 10th at Whatcom Hospice House. He was born in Columbus, GA on Sept. 3, 1951 and was a longtime Whatcom County resident.

While serving with the US Marine Corps in Vietnam, he was awarded a Bronze Star and several Purple Hearts for his valor. Carl was the great-grandson of Sacajawea and Toussaint Charbonneau, translators and guides for the Lewis and Clark expedition to the Pacific Northwest.

Carl is survived by his daughter Brandy, granddaughter Dakota, and several other friends and relatives.
