Carolyn Rose Tarr Aiken passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones on May 16, 2013 following her courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 30, 1940 to Charley Marcelus and Alida Ida (Corning) Tarr, in Port Angeles, Washington. She was preceded in death by her father Charley in 1975, her mother Alida in 2006 and her sister Colleen June (Tarr) Whelan in 1993. She is survived by her longtime companion Plato Malek of Seattle, Washington; her brother William H. Tarr of Menlo Park, California; her sons, Christopher Strelau of Bellingham, Washington; Todd Strelau of Seattle, Washington; her grandchildren Stephen Strelau, Hannah Strelau and Alexander Strealu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carolyn graduated from Bellingham High School in 1958. After high school, she attended Seattle University. She worked for Moore Business Forms and later became a successful real estate agent in the Seattle area. She loved to travel and entertain, often preparing wonderful and creative gourmet meals for all of her guests. Laughter and good humor surrounded her at any gathering. Her magnificent smile and beautiful eyes were unmatched and will always be remembered. No public service will be held.
