Cecil Watson, age 80 of Bellingham passed away peacefully on February 4, 2015. He was born November 21, 1934 in Swain, AR to Dent and Mary Watson. He was the seventh of twelve children. Cecil grew up in Springdale and Rogers, AR until he was seventeen when he moved to Bellingham. In 1952 he married Patty Wambsgans and they had two children, Bob and Kathie. Cecil trained to be a plumbing and pipe fitting teacher at Purdue University. After earning his teaching certificate he trained plumbers and pipe fitters at Bellingham Tech School and at the Bellingham Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Hall. While teaching at night his day job was working at Thiel Plumbing for thirty-one years until he started his own plumbing business, Watson Plumbing. Cecil ran Watson Plumbing until he retired in the early 1980’s. In his retirement he loved garage sales, antiques and building something out of nothing. Cecil was preceded in death by his son Bob, sister Etheleen Johnson, brothers Virgil, Ray and Elmer Watson. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patty, daughter Kathie Watson-Gray, MD, son-in-law Tim Gray, granddaughters, Racheal Witherell, Mary Watson-Cordray and Katelynn Watson, grandsons-in-law, Ed Witherell and Devin Cordray, great-grandson and best buddy Elvin “Peewee” Watson-Cordray, sisters Lola Porter, Pearly Edgmon, Inavern Kissinger, Freda Howell and Gracie Waddell, brothers Lonnie and Gary Watson and many loving family and friends. Services will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Saturday, February 7 as follows: Visitation at 11AM, Celebration of Cecil’s life at 12 noon with a reception following. A Graveside Service will be held at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11AM. Memorials in Cecil’s name may be made to Love INC 1998 Midway Lane, Bellingham, WA 98226.
