Charles Henry Coleman passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was born in Lubbock, Texas to Charles Henry Coleman and Winnie Mae (Roberts) Coleman.
Charles served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years. After high school, he trained in the IBEW apprenticeship program and served as a journeyman electrician in Texas and Washington for 40 years. He spent the last 13 years of his career working in the physical plant at WWU.
Charles was predeceased by his father Charles Henry Coleman, mother Winnie Mae Coleman, sister Mary Virginia Dansfiell, brother-in-law William Bryan Dansfiell, three nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by Bobbie Jo (Chambles) Coleman, wife of 66 years; three children, Charles III (Janice), Susanne, and Kenneth (Marcia); two grandsons Charles IV (Eryn) and Adam (Jalena); and two great-grandsons Blaise and Buddy.
Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 3-5 PM. Services will be held at Westford Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 with a reception following. Burial will follow at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale.
Memorials to the Whatcom Hospice House would be much appreciated. They helped Charles have a peaceful departure.
