Charles Pearson, age 94, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 in Bellingham. He was born August 31, 1920 in Pecos, TX.
Charles married Daisy Strain in 1941 and served in the US Army as a photographer in Europe during WWII. Charles and Daisy raised their three children in Seattle and Edmonds and in later years lived in the mountains near Lake Wenatchee, Anacortes and Bellingham.
Charles and Daisy were active in Christ Episcopal Church in Anacortes and St. Paul’s Episcopal in Bellingham. Charles was a commercial photographer in the Seattle area for most of his career and was an active member of the ASMP. In recent years he volunteered as an advocate for seniors in Whatcom County and the Alzheimer's Society. Charles was an amazing, talented man and was known for his unique sense of humor.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Stella, wife Daisy, son David, brother Donald and grandson Danny. He is survived by his son Robert “Bo” (wife Yvonne) Pearson, daughter Katherine (husband Tom) Wright, grandchildren Eden Pearson, Sarah Wright Sannes and Ben Wright, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Mary Jean Elliot and many loving relatives and friends.
Memorials may be made in memory of Charles and Daisy Pearson to the Alzheimer’s Society of Washington, 1308 Meador Avenue, Bellingham, WA 98229.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 2117 Walnut St. in Bellingham, WA on Wednesday, September 2nd at 1 PM. Reception following. The Rev. Jonathan Weldon will be officiating.
