Chester "Chet" Ressler
May 30, 1925 — December 11, 2016
Chet Ressler, age 91 of Bellingham, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016. He was born May 30, 1925 in Finley, ND to Frank and Edith (Wenlick) Ressler.
Chet served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-46. He was a career Longshoreman and a member of ILWU Local 7. Chet was also a member of the VFW Post #1585, the American Legion #7, and the Elk’s Club #190. He loved gardening, flowers, cribbage and his family. He always saw the beauty in nature and was known for his sense of humor. Chet was a sharp dresser and always wore cowboy boots.
He is survived by wife Lois, son Jim Ressler, daughter Kathy (Don) Hurley, daughter Judy Trummert, daughter Barbara (Lynn) Cummings, son Dennis (Lori) Ressler, step-son Jeff (Becky) Phillips and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Wed., Dec. 14th from 2-4 PM. A service of remembrance with military honors will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thurs., Dec. 15th at 11 AM followed by a reception.
