Christopher Lee Quady

January 31, 1964 — April 7, 2025

Ferndale

In loving memory of Christopher Quady. Chris passed away at his Sandy Point home on the evening of Monday, April 7, at the age of 61.

Chris was born in Bellingham, WA to parents John “Jack” and Helen “Colleen” Quady. He graduated from Sehome High School and grew up in the Silver Beach neighborhood on Northshore Drive. He met his life partner, Ruth DeBord, in 1998 and they spent the next 25 years together. They were practically inseparable until her untimely passing on September 14, 2023. Chris and Ruth were uniquely set in their ways, which made them perfect for each other.

Chris and Ruth were known to be great hosts. Their home was the place to be during football games, holidays, and just for the sake of having fun. They’d always had a lavish spread of seafood and other delicacies. He was very social and loved making his morning rounds saying hi to his friends and neighbors. Chris was also a legendary fisherman who was greatly loved by the local fishing community.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Quady Jr.; and by his life partner, Ruth DeBord. He leaves behind stepsons, Gregory Scott DeBord and Zachary Alan DeBord; granddaughter, Mackenzie Sharp; and grandson, James DeBord.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 1 at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham followed by a celebration of life reception at the Bellingham Yacht Club (2625 S. Harbor Loop Dr.) from 12pm-4pm.
