Christy Thompson, age 65 of Bellingham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 15th, 2017. She was born August 2nd, 1952 at Swedish Hospital in Seattle to John and Karleen Miller. All three shared the same birth date! Christy grew up in Bellingham, graduated from Sehome High School, and attended Central Washington University, where she met Jim Thompson of Yakima. They married June 15, 1974. Christy and Jim raised their two daughters Megan and Jessica in Bellingham, where Jesus later became the center of their marriage. Christy’s love and passion for children was reflected in over 20 years of teaching at Little Epistles preschool. Christy was preceded in death by her parents John and Karleen Miller, and her granddaughter Grace Evelyn Wahl. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Jim, daughters Megan Wahl (husband Ben), Jessica Thompson, grandchildren Lucas Wahl and baby girl expected to arrive on August 30th, sister Sherry Miller (husband Ed Thorp), and many loving relatives and friends. Memorial donations in Christy’s name may be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance ( https://secure.seattlecca.org ) or The Inn ( http://www.theinnministries.org/donate ). A memorial celebration at First Presbyterian Church, 1031 N. Garden St. in Bellingham, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 26th. Reception immediately following at the church.
