Corrinne L. Barnes, age 93, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in Bellingham. She was born January 18, 1920 in Nooksack, WA to Carl E. and Jessie B. Wilson. Corrinne was raised in West Mount Vernon, WA. She had worked as a maid, a waitress and later as a mechanic at Boeing during WWII. She met the love of her life, Stephen Barnes and they married in Bellingham on February 14, 1946. They lived in New York State for a while and returned to Bellingham in 1952 where she helped her husband Steve build his automotive businesses. Corrinne worked at the American Red Cross in Bellingham for over 20 years, retiring as Executive Director. She enjoyed playing games and spending time with her many relatives and friends. Corrinne was preceded in death by her husband Stephen in 2008 and her grandson John Clark. She is survived by her son Gary M. (Wanda) Clark, grandchildren Stephen Clark, Karen Gerrodette and her children Kyle and Rebecca, and Mark (Kelly) Clark and their children Jered, Rowenna and Kennedy, brother-in-law Jim Barnes, and many loving relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Silverado and Whatcom Hospice. A Celebration of Corrinne’s life will be held at Westford Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4th at 2 PM.
