Cynthia "Cindy" Marie Aubert (Johnson)

May 6, 1962 — August 19, 2021

Surrounded by her family, Cindy Aubert passed away peacefully on the evening of August 19, 2021 at her home on the shores of Sandy Point, in Ferndale, WA.
Born in Bellingham on May 6, 1962 to Mary and Robert Johnson, Cindy was the twelfth of fifteen children. She attended Assumption School and went on to graduate from Sehome High School in 1980. Cindy was a young single mother who provided for her two oldest children with determination and strength. On September 23, 1990, she married Steve Aubert and together they forged a beautiful life, raised four exceptional kids and set an example for us all.
Outgoing and resourceful, Cindy was an exceptional seamstress and the most amazing cook. She single-handedly spearheaded numerous family reunions and threw some of the most memorable parties ever. But it was her role as a wife/mother/grandmother that brought her the most joy. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sons Jeremy Leech and Sam Aubert as well as her daughters Hannah (Caleb) Atkins and Abby Aubert. Her spirit will live on in her grandchildren: Nora, Lily, Jude, Luca, and Olive.
She will be missed terribly by her brothers and sisters: Karen, Lynn, Richard, Bill, Katherine, Ed, Theresa, Mike, Kris, David, Gregg and Tim as well as numerous family members and countless friends. Cindy selflessly nurtured and cared for so many. She felt blessed to have family that were friends and friends that were like family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Aubert, her parents Robert and Mary Johnson, and her siblings Patricia Meehan and Donald Johnson.
The family would especially like to thank Patti and Curt Brisky, Kirk Linton, Carole Martinson, Heather Borland, her sisters Katherine and Theresa, Eden Hospice and all those who made her final days so comfortable.
Cindy will be laid to rest at Bayview Cemetery next to her husband Steve. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
