Daniel Casseres passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 13, 2023. He was born in Barranquilla, Colombia to Daniel and Julia Casseres on November 13, 1956. He moved to the United States as a child with his parents, brother Elias, and sister Julie, and settled in New Jersey. He attended school in New Jersey where he made lifelong friends. He joined the U.S. Marines with many of these friends, and he proudly served as a corporal from 1974-1977.
After completing his service, he moved to North Miami to live with his family. He began his work life as a cable TV technician with Miami Cable Co. and received his associate degree in computer technology from R.E.T.S in Miami. He spent many years working in the computer technology field and enjoyed sharing his expertise with those around him.
Dan was a very talented man. He loved music and was an especially gifted drummer. He played in many bands starting back in New Jersey with his friends and continuing throughout his life with musicians from South Florida to New England, California, and Washington State. He was also an avid gardener with a very green thumb, a furniture maker, a builder, a plumber, and an electrician when needed.
Most of all, he loved his family. He will be terribly missed. He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Julia and Jackie (husband Matt), grandchildren Stella and Blake, his son Gabriel, sister Julie and brother Elias, and many, many friends.
