Darrell Carl Markwood, age 79, passed away on July 30, 2023 in Bellingham, WA.
He was born on February 29, 1944 in Bellingham to parents Hanley (Short) and Cecil Markwood.
Darrell was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he was organist for 40 years. He worked for Uniflite for over 20 years as a personnel manager and bookkeeper and retired from WorkSource for WA state in 2015. He was an immensely talented musician and was incredibly devoted to his friends and family.
Darrell is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy; son, Steven (Brenna) Markwood; daughter, Jennifer (Ken) Thompson; seven grandchildren, Madeline (Daniel), Drew (Sierra), Allison (Joel), Noah (Myleah), Kade (Josie), Tanner, and Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Naevi and Lennon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the local non-kill pet shelter.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4 at Faith Lutheran Church in Bellingham with a reception following. Burial will be at Greenacres Memorial Park.
