David Jones, age 71 of Bellingham (Laurel), passed away November 13, 2013. David was born on July 19, 1942 to Arthur and Minnie Jones in Bellingham. He attended Meridian School District and lived and worked in Whatcom County for his whole life. David started working at Union Printing in Central Bellingham before eventually owning and operating Bellingham Business Machines and Mount Vernon Business Machines. David was a very passionate Lions Club member and volunteered with the Wheelchair Warehouse and served as club President. He was also a member of the Elks club. David loved hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In retirement, David loved going to any type of auction where he could find farm equipment or animals. He enjoyed lunch on Tuesdays with the Meridian boys and hitting the big $20 Jackpot at the casino. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed. David was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janice Myers. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia, sons Darrell and Doug (Caitlin)Jones, daughter Darlene (George) Shufelt, grandchildren George (Jade) Shufelt, Jr., Brandi Shufelt, Lindsey Jones, Sara (Dewayne) Marion and Holly Jones, great-granddaughters Taylor and Charlotte Shufelt, brothers Harold Jones and Denny (Margaret) Jones, sister Kathy (Art) Horgen, his faithful dog Coco and many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1 PM at Laurel Community Baptist Church, 162 W. Laurel Rd. in Bellingham (near Meridian High School). Memorials may be made to Bellingham Central Lions Club, or The American Cancer Society.
