Del Rowe, age 87 was called to Heaven on December 1, 2010 with his wife Vivian and daughter Susan by his side. He was born February 9, 1923 in Waterville, WA to Hughy and Gladys (Kuder) Rowe. Del served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. He married Vivian King on April 11, 1947 in Bellingham. Del worked as a Pressman for Belco Printing for many years. Del enjoyed woodworking, gardening, walking and swimming. He was a dedicated member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church where he was always quietly helping out with church operations. Del was kind, gentle, patient with others, and always loved children and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Earle Rowe (Margot’s husband), brother-in-law Ralph Saling and sister-in-law Frances King (Robert’s wife). He is survived by his loving wife Vivian of 63 years, daughter Susan Rowe-Neuman, granddaughter Mary-Margaret Rowe-Neuman, brother Eugene (Beulah) Rowe, sister-in-law Margot Rowe, brothers-in-law Robert King, Ted (Emma) King, Richard (Joanne) King and Donald (Peggy) King, and numerous other relatives.
A Graveside Service with full military honors will be held at Bayview City Cemetery on Saturday, December 18 at 2 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 3 PM at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, with a reception following.
