Diana “Dee” Sandoval, age 45, went to join our Heavenly Father on October 16, 2011. She passed on at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham, Washington. Diana battled a long illness of the liver.
Diana was born in Carrizo Springs, Texas. She was the daughter of Petra Gonzalez Carrillo of Bellingham, WA and stepfather Santos Carrillo. At a very young age, Diana moved from Texas to settle with her mother in Sunnyside, Washington. It was there that she received her education. In 1983, Diana, her mother, and her stepfather came to live in Lynden, WA where he came to work for Darrell Ellars in Lynden. Diana was a very loving, caring, warm-hearted fun person. She loved going to Glynn’s Shamrock Pub to sing karaoke. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.
Diana is survived by a sister, Santos Trevino de Luna of Prosser, WA, nephew, Michael (Almidas) Castillo, also of Prosser, WA. She is also survived by two very special uncles, Carlos Rodriguez of Prosser, WA and Uvence Resendez of Sunnyside, WA. Diana also leaves lots of cousins and friends who were very close her. She will be greatly missed.
The family of Diana wishes to thank all the staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their help and support, and especially the doctors and nurses who helped Diana to be cared for during this time of hardship. Mass at Assumption on Mon., Oct. 24 at 10:30 AM, committal at Ten Mile Cemetery in Lynden, reception at Westford’s Broadway Hall, 1300 Broadway.
