Dolores Lockhart-Franco, age 72, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2014 at Hospice House in Bellingham. She was born August 29, 1942 in San Mateo, CA to Walter and Jessie Lockhart. She married Albert P. Franco Sr. on June 28, 1958 in San Jose, CA. Dee was an active member of the Church of the Assumption where she volunteered as a Eucharistic and Hospitality Minister at Sunday Mass and as a Minister for the Homebound. Dee enjoyed traveling (especially cruises), scrapbooking, shopping, flower gardening and her animals. She was an artist, a reluctant but fantastic cook, a vanilla enthusiast (especially her milkshakes) and no one did Christmas quite like her. She cherished her children and grandchildren, and made spending time with them a priority in her life. Dee was preceded in death by her husband Albert in 2007. She is survived by daughters Janis (husband Loren) Clapp of Bellingham and Dolores (husband Jesse) Silva of Lynden, sons Albert “Happy” (wife
Yadira) Franco of Spain, Mark Franco of Bellingham, Darren (wife Charmaine) Franco of Hawaii, grandchildren Ryan, Pualani, DiAnna, Travis, Keanu, Albert III, Sarah and Carter and 3 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Church of the Assumption; Vigil 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 4th, Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM on Friday, September 5th, followed by a reception at the church. Fr. K.
