Doris Warner

Doris C. Warner, age 82, passed away March 26, 2011 in Bellingham, WA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 30, 1928 in Wynona, OK, to Melvin Eli and Gladys Pearl (Osborn) McMenomy. Doris worked as a legal secretary for over 20 years and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, collecting dolls and antiques, and rocking “her” babies (4 generations). Doris was faithful to her family.  Along with helping to raise many of her grandchildren, she adopted great-grandchildren Erica and Breanna in 1999. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Dale W. Warner, in 1996 and her brother Earl L. McMenomy. She is survived by her daughters Elaine (Richard) Stickney, of Garden City, KS, and Sherry (Fred) Utsler of Pawnee, OK; grandchildren Mary (Richard) Osbourn, Bellingham WA, Brian (Paula) Bruce, KS, Tonya (Rick) Spear, KS, Natalie Bruce, KS, Tammy Altepeter, MN, Monica (Angelo) Cornejo, KS, and Michelle Guinn, KS; 21 great- grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sisters Earlene Appelhans, KS, and Jean Allen, Ok; and numerous nieces, nephews and a large extended family.  A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Garden, Kansas, on Friday, April 15th at 10:00 AM.
