June Snyder, age 84 of Bellingham, passed away April 19, 2015. She was born June 3, 1930 in Renton, WA to Emulus Roy and Bessie B. Brown. June was raised in Kendrick, ID and attended Northern Idaho College of Education now known as Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, ID. For her first years after college June taught elementary school in the Yakima Valley. Once starting a family she concentrated on being a homemaker and on raising her 4 boys.
She had a boundless curiosity for just about everything. She loved reading books, magazines, newspapers, and doing crossword puzzles. She loved nature in all of its wonders and while living in Lakewood, WA, was a member of “Lakewold Gardens” where she could experience nature’s wonder through flowers and wildlife, especially her special connection with birds of all types. June lived her life with joy and laughter, loved being around people and could talk and laugh with visitors until midnight if they were so inclined. She had an astonishing connection to those that crossed paths with her life’s voyage. Many of her friends counted her as being part of their family… more than just a few called her “Mom". The joy of her life was her family. She will be missed in ways that cannot be expressed but will be with us always.
June was preceded in death by her parents, sister Georgia “Buddy” Rukgaber and brother Clarence Brown. She is survived by her sons Brent (Nancy) Snyder of Tacoma, WA, Craig (Sarah) Snyder of Bellingham, WA, Mark (Kathy) Snyder of Arlington, WA, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Snyder of Los Angeles, CA, former husband Milton L. Snyder (Dolores J. Gibbons) of Seattle, WA, grandchildren Micah, Brent, Jr., Mia, Dominic, Katie, Lindsey, and a set of twins on the way, five great-grandchildren, sister Evelyn Bortner Beckwith of Clearwater, FL, brothers Thomas Brown of Spokane, WA and Jerry Brown of Kendrick, ID and many loving relatives and friends.
