Ted Onyon, age 91 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 in Bellingham, WA. He was born July 24, 1921 in Trenton, Ontario, Canada to Harry and Lucy Ann (Edwards) Onyon. He married Mary Lennox on May 1, 1943 in Toronto. Ted enjoyed fishing, golfing, cribbage, playing pool and oil painting. He was talented with his hands and retired as a manufacturing design engineer. Ted was quiet, strong, steady, creative and had a witty sense of humor. He was a thoughtful and devoted husband and a great role-model to his family. Ted was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Blaine. Ted was preceded in death by sibilings William, Sadie and Edna, grandson James Edward Onyon and great-grandson Steven McFarland. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Mary, children Ed (wife Bonnie) Onyon of Blaine, Rob (wife Lenore) Onyon of Blaine, Doug Onyon (wife Gloria Richards) of Simi Valley, CA, Mary (husband Bill) Valk of Clovis, CA, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and many loving relatives and friends throughout the United States and Canada. A Celebration of Ted’s life will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Blaine at 2 PM on Sunday, March 17th. Reception to follow. Memorials may be made to your local Salvation Army.
