Eleanor L. McBeath, age 96, passed away Nov. 11, 2010 in Tacoma. She was born February 4, 1914 in Bellingham to Thomas & Ada (Hawke) Fraser. In 1937, she married Malcolm “Dutch” McBeath in Seattle. Eleanor was a busy mother of four children while Dutch was running the family business, McBeath Glass & Paint. Eleanor enjoyed sewing, crafts and golfing with her friends at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club. Eleanor was a longtime member of PEO. After retirement Eleanor and Dutch spent their winters at Happy Wanderers in Indio, CA. Eleanor was a strong woman and a loving wife and mother.
Eleanor moved from Bellingham to Tacoma ten years ago to be closer to her family. The family wishes to thank Caring Hands Adult Family Home in Tacoma for their care and support for the past five years.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Dutch, in 1996; brother Gordon “Bus” Fraser, and sisters Edna and Isabelle. Eleanor is survived by sons Tom (Betty) McBeath of San Ramon, CA and Jim (Pat) McBeath of Mill Valley, CA; daughters Barb (Garry) Kehr of Spokane and Mary-anne (Jack ) Callinsky of Tacoma; sister Jeanne Simonds of Bellevue; sister-in-law Alice Fraser of Bellingham; grandchildren Mike McBeath, Casey (Jovita) Callinsky, and Jessi Callinsky; 2 great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
A family gathering will be held at Greenacres Cemetery.
