Eleanor Luanne Spinelli

Luanne Spinelli, age 81 of Bremerton, WA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 21 2014 in Casa Grande, AZ. Luanne was born in Washington, D.C. to Richard Alfred and Ernestine Locke (Sloop) Walker and was raised in Maryland and North Carolina. After meeting and marrying Vincent Spinelli, her husband of 62 years, they began their family. While raising a young family, she received her BA in Education at the University of Washington and began her career at Tracyton Elementary School teaching 6th grade. Luanne later taught 6th grade at Fairview Middle School before moving on to teach English at Central Kitsap High School. She continued her education over numerous summers to complete her Masters in Sports Administration and Education Administration allowing her to obtain her Principal papers and move from teaching English to Administration. Luanne went on to be the Vice Principal and Sports Administrator at Olympic High School. She poured her heart into encouraging young people to reach and exceed their potential. Many of her former students contacted her over the years to thank her for her investment in their lives and told her what a difference she made because she cared. Luanne enjoyed traveling, gardening, softball, fishing, golf and later bocce ball in the Arizona sunshine during the winters. She is survived by her husband Vincent, daughter Laurie (Jim) Pendergast, sons Paul (Vicki) Spinelli and Philip (Kathy) Spinelli, grandchildren Andy, Julie, and Kim Pendergast, Justin(Maggie) and Adrienne Spinelli, Evan, Nathan, Carmen, Anna, Lanie and Elli Jo Spinelli, two great-grandchildren Frederick and Britta Spinelli. A graveside service will be held on Friday May 30th at 1:00pm at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale, WA. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
