Elizabeth Moore, age 74 died at home in Bellingham on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She was born July 4, 1937 in Miami, Oklahoma to R. Soland and Helen Doenges.
Elizabeth received her Master in Librarianship from the University of Washington in 1968. She was a career librarian and teacher, retiring from Anacortes High School in 2000.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Conrad. She is survived by her husband John, daughters Katherine Moore of Seattle and Anne Moore (partner Melissa Anderson) of Seattle. Elizabeth was a member of the Edgemoor Garden Club, Bellingham Music Festival, Bellingham Music Club, P.E.O. Chapter F, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Memorials may be made to the P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education, P.E.O. Executive Office, Treasurer’s Department, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Friday, October 28 at 3:00 pm followed by a reception in the Great Hall.
