Born in Bellingham on July 20, 2007, Emily was adopted by Edward Halasz and Julia Menkee. She grew up playing soccer and always getting in some sort of trouble. She loved summer camps and skateboarding. She was always climbing super high up in trees and scaring everyone. She loved playing with the animals and getting dirty.
Emily loved spending time with her siblings and her Grandma Patty. She loved listening to music, watching movies, playing soccer, drawing, hanging out with friends, singing and acting. She enjoyed playing with children and holding babies. She loved dressing up and doing her makeup. Making friends came very easily to her.
Emily was funny, creative, joyful and overall, just a wonderful person to be around. She always knew how to make someone smile when they were feeling sad. It was important to her to take care of others; Emily couldn’t pass a suffering soul without wanting to offer help.
She is survived by her adoptive parents Edward and Julia, her grandmother Patty Lomas, her brothers Nico, Luis, Andrew, and Adrian, her sisters Victoria and Hannah, and her biological parents Rene Borbon and Erika Yrizarris.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 16 at 1:00pm at Christ the King in Bellingham. You can view the services via livestream here:
