Bernice passed away peacefully October 29, 2012 at Whatcom Hospice House surrounded with love and family. She was born August 8, 1928 at Harper’s Corner, Ontario to William and Florence (Harper) Leslie. Bernice attended school in the Galt, Ontario area, where she became a registered nurse. Working as a RN supervisor on the medical/surgical floor of South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, she met Ted who was her beloved husband for 56 years. After moving to Bellingham, Bernice volunteered countless hours assisting the food and clothing banks, Meals on Wheels, March of Dimes and United Way campaigns, Visiting Nurse and the Sarah Debra Auxiliary (to benefit St. Joseph Hospital). Bernice adored spending time with family and friends playing tennis, golf, bridge, and traveling. But by far her greatest joy was when her entire family was together. She will long be remembered as an extraordinarily loving, supportive Mother and Nanna, trusted confidante, joyous friend and a truly gracious lady.
Bernice is survived by son Gregory Pritchett of Lake Tapps, WA; daughter Lynn (David) Thompson and grandson Connor Thompson of Bellingham; brother Bill (Audrey) Leslie of Cambridge, Ontario and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews residing in Ontario, Canada.
