Born on December 28, 1950 in Kananga, Leyte, Philippines, Inday, passed away on May 25, 2024 in Bellingham, WA.
Inday attended Abellana Elementary School in Cebu, Philippines and National Heroes Institute in Kananga, Leyte, Philippines where she enjoyed stage acting/drama as an extracurricular activity.
Inday held a degree in Chemical Engineering from Cebu Institute of Technology and worked as Quality Control engineer in the Philippines before moving to the US in 1984. She returned to school in the U.S. and received her Nursing degree from EVCC. She worked in various nursing homes in Bellingham and South Puget Sound, attaining the position of Director Nursing Services. Her love of her work and her pride in being a champion of patients led her to continue her work part-time after “retirement” in the Bellingham/Lynden/Blaine area.
She took great pride in planning and planting her garden, and loved restoring used garden ornaments, arranging flowers, interior decorating, and hiking. Perhaps her greatest passion involved travel to Asia, Europe, and the Middle East with her husband and best friend.
She was proud of her self-sufficient and successful children. She had hoped to see all her grandchildren graduate high school.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Comerford; son, Duane (Belinda); daughter, Diane (Marko); sister, Adoracion (Don); grandchildren, Sebastian, Julian, Isabel, and Miguel; stepdaughters, Heather (Temo) and Kelly; and step-grandchildren, Diego, Teo, Riley, and Samantha.
Vigil to be Monday, 6/3 at 5pm at Westford Funeral Home in Bellingham. Mass of Christian Burial to be Tuesday, 6/4 at 10:30am at Church of the Assumption followed by burial at Bayview Cemetery.
