Florita Berg

Flo Berg, age 77, passed away peacefully in Bellingham on September 21, 2018. Flo was born November 15, 1940 in Waipahu, Hawaii to Francisco and Cipriana Bautista. In 1961 Flo married Warren Hetterly and moved to Washington. She later married Alfred “Bruce” Berg in Bellingham. Flo enjoyed helping customers and her co-workers while working at K-Mart. Flo was passionate about caring for infants and children at the Bellingham Childcare Center. Many of the kids called her “Miss Flo” and became like family to her. In 2012 Flo and Bruce retired in Bullhead City, AZ. They enjoyed the sun and tended their rose garden and fruit trees. Flo enjoyed cooking, baking and knitting gifts for others, and she was passionate about her Catholic faith. Flo was preceded in death by her husband Bruce Berg in 2018. She is survived by her daughters Renee Hetterly and Debbie Matyas, stepson Alfie, stepdaughter Christy, grandchildren Mackenzie, Teale and Joshua, sisters Maxine, Mary, Sue and Laurie, brother Joe, and many loving relatives and friends.
